The customer service landscape continues to change, and 2015 will be the year CEOs spend big dollars making customer service a top priority. The customer will be the center of attention. As a result, Chief Customer Officers (or people with similar responsibilities) will take a seat at the executive table. Expect to see a lot of investments in technologies and people resources: purchasing new tools and hiring new staff will be at the top of the agenda.
2. Driving More Sales in 2015 with Social Currency
In recent years, examples of social currency, like last year’s Daisy Marc Jacobs money-free tweet shop, have become omnipresent. These types of initiatives go beyond receiving a small discount off your order. In 2015, the trend will move even further towards a legitimate method of paying. Recently, the Chit Indiegogo campaign was launched: an alternative currency that rewards everyone for their social influence which proves the next step in social currency to create a social media influence model.
3. Consumers Are Only Loyal to the Experience, Not to the Brand
The modern day customer is really cautious about their purchasing habits and more mindful of their lifestyle. Brands that were once household names are now struggling to survive. Fortunately, in our experience driven world, customers can be loyal to the experience a brand offers. However, this quickly disappears as the emotional connection customers experience wears off.
If brands want to grow in 2015, they need to engage meaningfully and purposefully, and ultimately, become a part of the daily lives of consumers to continue to deliver on that experience.
