Employees — Your Most Important Asset

Employees are a company’s most important asset. They are the face of the company and directly impact customer experience and satisfaction. However, few organizations listen to their employees as part of a strategic initiative. Voice of the Employee (VOE) programs help companies identify what really matters to their employees. Engaged employees are more productive, creative, and their interests are aligned with company goals. You could say that VOE is just as important as Voice of the Customer.

VOE feedback has traditionally been collected through surveys and employee portal. However, with the transformation of digital technologies, many companies are leveraging internal collaboration sites such as Yammer, Lithium, Jive and Chatter for feedback on what employees view as important. Of course, there’s social media which provides a wealth of information on just about anything including how your employees feel about the company.

Studies have shown that it is more costly to hire and train a new employee than retain an existing employee. Your employees have a deep understanding of your business, how to make your products and services run smoothly, and provide an enhanced customer experience — all of which ultimately drive the bottom line. Leverage the knowledge and experiences of your employee for a more efficient organization. Listen to your employees because your customers are.
